Giving Tubesday - Color Edition

If you have a chance, consider making a donation to one of the many #GivingTuesday drives you've undoubtedly seen in your email or on social media. Today's #Tubesday selections include a familiar face on MMS, an exciting newcomer, and a focus on color.

You may remember Novo Amor from #WIFL earlier this year. Now the Welsh multi-instrumentalist has teamed up with the similarly multi-hyphenate Englisman Ed Tullett on the album Heiress. We feature the lyric video from "Silvery", my favorite of the tracks I've sampled thus far. Everything about this song unfurls in a leisurely fashion, from the opening plinking of the piano to the slow build of Lacey and Tullett's intertwined falsettos. It sounds like early Bon Iver and vintage Coldplay had a snog in the washroom at a pub, and this was what resulted (and I mean that in the most complimentary of ways).

Next up is "gold" from Irish electronic musician and singer-songwriter EDEN. The song is a touch of Counting Crows' Adam Duritz mixed with a jigger of later Bon Iver, an engaging mix of high tech and lo-fi set against an intimately cinematic backdrop. EDEN's debut album, Vertigo, will be available in January of 2018, with a nationwide tour in March and April. EDEN will grace the stage of the 9:30 Club on April 7.
