La Vía Largo y Sinuoso - Bio Ritmo's Musical Gateway to the South (and the World)

Bio Ritmo, the influential Richmond, Virginia-based salsa band, are back with Puerta del Sur (Gateway to the South), on Vampisoul Records. With a sound at once vintage and cutting-edge, Bio Ritmo fuses traditional salsa with Brazilian tropicalia, modern synths, and Afro-Cuban rhythms. The result is both familiar and indescribable.

Puerta del Sur will be released on June 24th, and Bio Ritmo will roll into Iota Club and Cafe on Thursday, June 26th, to showcase the new record and their considerable catalog. Doors open at 8:30pm and tickets are $15.
