There’s a big hip-hop show coming to town this Sunday, November 18th, at the 9:30 Club, featuring Ghostface and Rakim, so a it’s a double-shot today - one new track, and one old-school. First up is “Barrell Brothers” from Ghostface’s The Big Doe Rehab. It’s got driving, hard-edged rhymes to match its overdriven synth samples. Take a listen.

And now we go back to 1997 for Rakim’s “The 18th Letter.” He drops his effortless delivery over top of a sparse, soulful R&B groove. Take a listen.
