New Music Monday - JPKS and Cote

Today's #NewMusicMonday features a pair of MMS alums, with stunning new singles from Water Liars' Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster (hereafter referred to as JPKS), prepping a debut solo album, and singer-songwriter COTE.

"The Dirt, The Bells, & I" is the third track released off Constant Stranger, the debut album from JPKS which drops on Big Legal Mess Records at the end of the month. The song, unmistakably elegiac in its lament, strikes a chord that's iconoclastic in its defiance of romantic tropes. Steeped in imagery of both the natural and sacred worlds, JPKS channels the metaphysical bent of Lord Huron with a timbre not unlike that of Ben Schneider, the band's leader.

JPKS will be embarking upon a solo tour this fall, with a stop in Baltimore on October 9.

Next up we have "Green Light", the latest single from New York artisan-turned-singer Taryn Randall, recording under the moniker COTE. Her music straddles genre lines, with sensibilities both modern and steeped in early 80s AAA, channeling Bat for Lashes and Stevie Nicks into a sound that's entirely her own. No word on tour dates yet, but we will keep you posted as soon as we hear something.
